Antenna Boxes

This page (and several follow-up pages) is specific to Mickey's peculiar antenna configuration and the attempt to make it work with the radio. It's presented here because it's highly likey other people will have similar problems with their 'long wire' antenna that's far from what it should be. Perhaps they can adopt this to their needs. It did work a little.

For the 1st box, this is pretty much it in a nutshell.

The bill of materials:

• Box. I used a roughly 5 x 8 x 2.5 plastic box from Amazon. $16. It worked well
• Rotary switches (2). $24 for both. One of them serves no purpose in this box. How this happened is explained in the referenced page above
• 7 inches of half inch PVC water pipe
• 28 AWG enameled wire for the secondary
• 18 AWG enameled (or bare) wire for the primary
• Banana post sets (2). Amazon or Temu or pretty much anywhere except Radio Shack
• Couple of long mounting screws
• Foam two-sided adhesive tape
• 22 AWG stranded hook-up wire
